Motorcycles Past and Present

I ‘ve always loved motorcycles. I had my first one as soon as I could ride which was at the age of sixteen. Things haven’t changed and I currently own a few. If I had the space, then I would have more. Unfortunately I haven’t kept a photographic record of all the bikes I’ve owned,
but here are some below.

Yes, another MV Agusta.
I have adored these bikes all my life, and I have always wanted to own one.
I’ve now owned 2 in the last few months. Honestly life doesn’t get any better then this. These MV’s were designed by the same person who designed the Ducati 996 below. He certainly knew how to design a motorbike. Silly as it might sound, but I consider these bikes to be works of art, an absolute pleasure to own and admire.
This one is a 2001 F4 750cc. Exactly the same year and model as the MV below.

I absolutely love Ducati’s.
I’ve had quite a few now, and the 996 below and its successor’s

the 916 & 748, are my favourites.
These are the quintessential Ducati’s, the ultimate Superbikes.
This beauty is a 2000 and its an absolute beast of a bike
.
This one is a keeper (I think)

Now this is what I call a motorbike. Its a 2001 MV Agusta 750 F4.
In my opinion this has to be one of the most gorgeous bikes ever made.I used to watch Phil Read, Mike Hailwood and Giacomo Agostini race the early MV Agusta’s back in the day and I always wanted to own one. I remember the sound even now. When I saw this one I had to have it. They are getting hard to find in this condition, so this was a stroke of luck finding this one.
Just look at the backside on this beauty, now that is something to get excited about. 4 cylinders with 4 exhaust pipes poking out under the rear seat fairing. However, unfortunately when I took it out for its MOT I dropped it on a roundabout and it has now been written off by the insurers. I literally rode it no more than about 2 miles. Needless to say, I am completely and absolutely gutted.

I decided to take on a little project with this old Ducati which was a barn find and was probably destined for the scrapper, but I couldn’t let that happen. This is a Ducati Cadet 100cc bike. They were produced between 1965 – 1966, so it’s a very rare bike indeed, built mainly for the Italian market, with very few ever imported into the UK. This is a genuine UK model, complete with its original dealer supply sticker from Leamington Spa.

It has been stored since sometime in the 70’s, and has not been moved or run since. The bike has very low mileage, at just over 7000 miles from new. Its a 4 speed manual, with right side gear change and left side foot brake.

So, the little project is pretty much complete. I put all the bits back together and I think it’s looking good once again. It’s not a concourse restoration by any stretch of the imagination, more of a sympathetic restoration. I have now moved it on and sold it you a collector of 2-stroke bikes. I think he was very happy with the job I had done. And so was I !!!!!!!

I bought this bike a few months ago. It had been sitting and hadn’t been riden for quite a few years when I got it. I bought it as a project to work on and to get back on the road again. So after a few weeks tinkering around, its ready to ride once again.
It a 2000 Ducati 900ss (SuperSport) ie. Its the fuel injected version and has Ducati’s awesome 900cc engine and is a beast. These Ducati’s just look so good.

This is a 2003 Ducati Multistrada 1000DS. I’m not sure its my sort of thing but everybody seems to be into the adventure biking malarky, so I thought I would give it a go

One of my favourites. A 2001 Ducati ‘Monster’ 916cc S4. Termignoni pipes sound like thunder. All the usual S4 goodies, Sachs suspension, Marchesini wheels, and carbon fibre everywhere.
As fast as hell and and absolutely fantastic bike.

Picked up this beauty recently. It’s a 1974 Honda CB750 Four. Pretty much original as far as I can see. Its not in fully restored concourse condition but its still looks and rides fantastic. Its also now a ‘historic’ vehicle so no MOT or Road Tax required. That’ll do nicely!!!

Just sold this beauty. It was a 2002 750 Supersport in absolutely mint condition with only 12,700 miles on it. Absolutely gorgeous bike but a beast to ride.

This is a library photo of a 1997 Ducati 750 Supersport similar to one that I owned quite a few years ago. As you can see, it was slightly more boxier looking than the 2002 bike above. It was a cracker and had a fantastic Ducati roar from the exhaust. Not really sure why I sold it

Honda 600 CBR. I bought this of a good friend of mine.
This was a lovely bike to ride

Triumph Bonneville T100.
This bike is a 2008 but it has all the vintage looks of the older models

Ducati Monster 800. A lovely bike that just wants to be ridden fast.
Its a 2005
